Tara Hill is a lifetime Connecticut resident who grew up in the woods of Moosup, Connecticut about 30 minutes north of Norwich.
“Connecticut is just a part of me. It’s my home and it’s very special. I want to be a part of strengthening this special place,” says Hill. Which is why Hill was thrilled when she learned about the opportunity to become a ServeHereCT fellow.
“ServeHere was a way for me to learn more about my community and become more engaged. I have been eager to become more of an active participant in the community since I came home from college,” says Hill.
Hill works as a Community Living Counselor at a transitional living facility for young adult men primarily diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Day to day, Hill is responsible for ensuring various aspects of her client’s well being. She mentors her clients scheduled to ensure they are participating in and completing house requirements such as their chores or attending meetings and appointments.
Hill received her AA from Three Rivers Community College in Norwich Connecticut and her BA in Psychology University of NC Wilmington.
